About Your 2 Week Holiday

Day 1 - Darwin

Arrive in Northern Territory’s capital city of Darwin. There are direct flights from Asia and most of Australia’s major cities. Enjoy two days here to explore this relaxed, friendly city from a centrally located hotel or apartment.

Darwin is compact and the town centre and lively Waterfront area are easy to wander round on foot. Nearby Fannie Bay and the Crocodile Farm make interesting trips out.

Day 3 - Litchfield / Kakadu / Katherine

Pick up your car this morning for your six day self-drive around Kakadu National Park and the Top End. All hotels, car hire, maps and guides are included. The Top End Tour takes in spectacular Katherine Gorge and the beautiful rivers and waterfalls of Litchfield National Park - see full itinerary.

Day 8 - Alice Springs

This morning you can choose to continue your journey by air, road or aboard the mighty Ghan Railway as you travel south along the old pioneer route to the town of Alice Springs. Talk to your FREEDOM consultant about the distances involved and the means of travel you would prefer.

Enjoy two nights in the friendly, historic town of Alice. Established in the 1870s as a telegraph relay station, it still retains a sleepy, ‘no worries’ atmosphere. Its visitor centre, Flying Doctor Museum, Reptile Park and Anzac Hill tell the story of early pioneers to the region and there is some great Aboriginal art in the local galleries.

Day 10 - Kings Canyon / Ayers Rock

Pick up another car, if you have flown or travelled by train, and head off through the low bush, stunted trees and rich red soils of the outback on your Red Centre self-drive. This four day Red Centre Adventure takes in the natural wonders of Kings Canyon and finishes up at the Olgas and iconic Ayers Rock - see full itinerary.

Day 13 - Ayers Rock

Spend an extra day in Ayers Rock Resort, close to Kata Tjuta National Park and the rock itself. If you can, get up early to see the sun rise over Ayers Rock, visit the museum, hike around the base or even fly over it on a helicopter sightseeing tour. You will see why Ayers Rock, or Uluru, has been special to the Aboriginal people for thousands of years.

Day 14 - FAREWELL

After some final souvenir shopping, head to the airport for your flight back to the UK or continue on to another Australia region.
