Your Camping Adventure
Swim in plunge pools under waterfalls in Litchfield National Park and learn about the Aboriginal Dreamtime from your guide. Explore the landscape and waterfalls of Kakadu National Park (World Heritage listed for both its cultural and natural values), travel along rocky 4-wheel drive tracks and search for crocodiles and other wildlife on our cruise.
Day 1 - Darwin to Kakadu via Litchfield National Park
At an early start from Darwin at approximately 7am we make our way to the first stop of our trip, Litchfield National Park. Known for its great swimming waterfalls, you will get to hike and explore areas such as Florence and Wangi Falls, where you will also enjoy a picnic lunch. Learn about the intriguing cathedral and magnetic termite mounds, which are abundant in the park, and view the beautiful spring-fed streams and sandstone escarpments.
After lunch it's time to bid the sealed road goodbye, as our true four-wheel-drive adventure begins along Old Jim Jim Road taking us deep into Kakadu National Park. As we pass billabongs and cross several waterways, you have the opportunity to spot some of the great wildlife of the park including amazing birdlife, crocodiles and various reptiles.
In the evening we spend time at our private campsite in Cooinda, enjoying dinner and stories from the day before retiring to your choice of permanent tent or air-conditioned lodge rooms nearby. (Must be pre-booked).

Day 2 - Kakadu (May to October)
It's a beautiful start to the morning as we embark on a wildlife cruise on the famous Yellow Waters billabong. The Aboriginal-owned award-winning cruise gives us the opportunity to spot some remarkable and diverse wildlife including the iconic crocodile.
We then head to Nourlangie Rock nearby where you can see how the local indigenous people lived in the area through the generations. The environmental and social changes of the area are evident in the rock art and surrounding areas where archaeologists have uncovered over 20,000 years of Aboriginal occupation.
It's then onto the Bowali Visitor Centre which is named after the land owned by the Mirarr clan. The audio-visual presentations will give you in an insight into the Aboriginal art from artists within Kakadu and surrounding areas.
Our final site for the day is Ubirr Rock, a significant cultural site within Kakadu National Park. Here you can view a wide range of Aboriginal rock art which will be explained and interpreted by your guide, including a famous story about the Rainbow Serpent. We climb the Nadab Lookout for excellent views over the surrounding floodplain and into Arnhem Land as the sun sets.
In the evening we spend time at our private campsite enjoying dinner and stories from the day before retiring to your choice of permanent tent or air-conditioned lodge rooms nearby. (Must be pre-booked).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin
Our final day is spent exploring two of the most popular jewels of Kakadu National Park, the big waterfalls of Twin & Jim Jim, only accessible by four-wheel-drive. To reach Twin Falls we travel over 4WD track and then take a boat shuttle (extra cost as part of your compulsory local payments) followed by a rocky walking track and boardwalk - but it's all worth the effort as we explore this remote waterfall of Kakadu. We then travel through monsoon forests and over boulders to get to Jim Jim Falls, surrounded by 150-metre cliffs. After an awe-inspiring day, we bid farewell to Kakadu and make our way back to cosmopolitan Darwin, arriving in the early evening.
