Adelaide and South Australia

The state that provides over half Australia’s wines has a well earned reputation for great food and drink, and a Mediterranean climate to match.

The capital, Adelaide, sits on the banks of the Torrens River, with some fine colonial buildings, parks and gardens overlooking the Torrens River, plus an historic tram to Glenelg beach. Nearby is Kangaroo Island, a sanctuary for native Australian wildlife, as well as charming country towns along the Murray River.

Further north, past the extensive vineyards of the Barossa and Clare Valleys, is the spectacular scenery of Flinders Ranges National Park and the dry lake beds and barren plains of outback South Australia.
