Your Adventure

Day 1 - Sydney to Crescent Head

Set the tone for this authentic Aussie adventure by crossing Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge as we venture toward the surfing haven of Crescent Head. After a tasty BBQ lunch, we’ll be hitting the water with a surf lesson. Whether you’re just starting out or have surfed before, here's your chance to become a bona fide surf master.

Day 2 - Crescent Head to Byron Bay

Our road trip continues as we roll past the Big Banana icon before pulling into Byron Bay – where you can burn incense, sip chai and practice yoga all in one day.

Day 3 - Byron Bay

Anti-McDonald's and anti-anything mass produced (but pro juice bars, beer gardens and beards), Byron is all about the small town vibes. On your free day here, hit the shops, test out those newly acquired surfing skills, paddle a sea kayak, skydive, or watch whales breach from the Lighthouse in winter. Pretty sweet, huh?

Day 4 - Byron Bay to Gold Coast

Leave the blissful buzz of Byron behind you as we head to BrisVegas (aka Brisbane). But first, we’re headed to the famous Surfers Paradise. The Gold Coast theme parks, the skywalk, and Brissy’s man made beach await us next. Don't let its namesake fool you - there are no late night wedding chapels in the sunshine state capital. Just a whole lot of fun.

Day 5 - Gold Coast to Fraser Island

Today we’ll discover Noosa and the breathtaking Glasshouse Mountains, then board the ferry bound for the world’s largest sand island. It’s UNESCO World Heritage listed, so expect a serious dose of awesome. Fraser Island, we’re ready for ya! We ask that you have packed a small overnight bag to take to Fraser Island with you as luggage space is limited. Pack items like swimmers, beach towel, chargers, hat, sunscreen, camera, jacket, toiletries, sandals/flip flops and casual clothes for 2 days.

Day 6 - Fraser Island

Fraser is literally one huge pile of sand – as if someone dropped the Sahara Desert into the Pacific Ocean and scattered it with dingoes and forests. Embark on an included four-wheel drive along the beach highway and explore Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, the Maheno Shipwreck and so much more.

Day 7 - Fraser Island to Myella Farm

Time to swap the beach for the bush and make a beeline for a home-cooked meal and cattle station visit. Along the way, we’ll stop off at the iconic Bundaberg rum distillery for a tour and tasting sesh in the heart of sugar cane country. Then: onwards to the farm. Think dusty plains and wide open spaces. This afternoon, enjoy an authentic outback experience.

Day 8 - Myella Farm to Emu Park

Take to life on the land like a horse to oats with an adventure-packed morning of horse riding and motor biking. Dirty your boots, milk your first cow, or just go walkabout. This evening, enjoy a moment with nature as you watch the sun set over the wide open plains.

Day 9 - Emu Park to The Whitsundays

Feeling like you need more air in your hair? Leave the bus and board your own private yacht for our overnight (2 day, one night) sailing trip in the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Normally a toy for the rich and famous, today it's all yours to learn the ropes while sailing in paradise. Cue feasts, swim stops and plenty of snorkelling.

Day 10 - Airlie Beach

Today, we’ll set sail for sandy beaches, snorkel over coral reefs and soak up the sun. Keep those sunglasses on as the blinding white sands of Whitehaven stretch before you like a 7km sea of diamonds, and swim with the resident reef fish at a nearby snorkelling location. Back on board, practise your seafaring skills by helping to set the sails or steer at the helm. Make the most of this paradise before we head back to shore tonight.

Day 11 - Airlie Beach to Magnetic Island

Today we’re off to Magnetic Island, just a short ferry ride over from the mainland. Relax, recharge and take it easy in a hammock of your choice. Or, get involved in walks to secluded beaches and maybe even feed some of the local animals.

Day 12 - The Whitsundays to Cairns

Get stuck into a private tour of the local wildlife park, where you can kiss a baby crocodile, smooch a blue tongue lizard and even cuddle a koala (all optional). Back on the Bruce Highway and colourful Cairns in the far north tropic region is our next destination. We’ll pass palm treelined streets this afternoon as we make our way into Cairns, nestled between the Coral Sea and the Great Dividing Range. After checking into our centrally located hotel, head out to grab some dinner – you’re spoilt for dining choices here. After dinner the revelry is up to you – check out the famous Night Markets or soak up the local nightlife at one of the many bars and clubs.

Day 13 - Cairns

You have two days to crack Cairns! Why not start with an optional Great Barrier Reef trip? It’s like a kid’s gone crazy with their paint set down there. Keep your eyes peeled for some awesome animals; we’re talking turtles, reef sharks, rays and more.

Day 14 - Cairns

Ramp up the adventure with today’s optionals. You could do some white water rafting or get an aerial view of the tropics by jumping out of a plane. There’s also bungy jumping. Or just kick back with a coconut. Make the most of what Cairns has to offer, tomorrow we’re off to Alice.

Day 15 - Cairns to Alice Springs

Catchya later, Cairns. Today we take to the skies heading south west to meet up with some new crew members in Alice Springs.

Day 16 - Alice Springs to Uluru

We're hitting the red ground running as we take to the road and head into Yulara (the gateway resort to Uluru). We’re off to the breathtaking Uluru in the afternoon for a guided walking tour before a glass of bubbles as we watch the glow of the sunset morph through 50 shades of red. This will be a sunset for the books. Tonight, hone your Aussie BBQ skills and cook your own steak (or veggie burger). Welcome to Australia, mate.

Day 17 - Uluru

Start your day with a big bowl of 'oh my god' thanks to a breathtaking sunrise back at Uluru. Follow in the footsteps of the traditional owners of this sacred World Heritage site with a full base walk, where you can escape the crowds and check out hidden waterholes. Keep watch for wedge-tailed eagles, spinifex hopping mice and thorny devils. Or splurge on a scenic flight and soar over the rock. Later, join an optional meditative dot painting class in the Aboriginal Art Markets and give yourself a free astrology lesson, stargazing at the endless Southern night sky.

Day 18 - Uluru to Kings Canyon

After a hearty breakfast, we spend a few hours back in the National Park. This time get ready for some soul searching as we venture into the heart of sacred Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas) and walk amongst the 36 red sandstone giants through the Valley of the Winds. After a drive into Watarrka National Park, live the life of a jolly swagman as we sleep under the stars in custom swags. Cue campfire stories and marshmallows tonight.
Please be aware that in winter months (May-Sept), nighttime temperatures can drop to near 0 degrees so warmer clothing will be required for the night sleeping in the swag.

Day 19 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Get your hiking boots on! This morning we start with the hardest part of the famous Rim Walk in Kings Canyon, aptly named ‘Heart Attack Hill’. But believe us, it’s worth the effort. The Kings Canyon Rim Walk is the real deal and the most famous canyon in Australia. Think age-old cycads, eroded dome shapes, a visit to The Lost City – and that's not even the best part. The sheltered valley and waterhole of the Garden of Eden make today even more awesome. After a stop for some lunch, we’ll board the bus back to Alice Springs.

Day 20 - Alice Springs

Wake up. Rub eyes. Climb into a hot air balloon. Just saying, it’s an option...and an amazing start to the day. Back to earth venture on an excursion out amongst the Western MacDonnell Ranges. Our stops include the peaceful Simpsons Gap and the impressive Standley Chasm. It’s back to Alice Springs to grab a late lunch and explore the town centre. This afternoon, have a wander and check out our options. There are local Aboriginal art galleries to check out, the Desert Park Gardens to explore and the Reptile Centre to get creeped out in. Book in the optional late afternoon Kangaroo Sanctuary tour for sunset. Say goodbye to your travel mates, this is the end of the road, for now.
